Report upon the Natural History Collections made in Alaska between the years 1877 and 1881, No. III, 12 chromolithographed plates after R. & J.L. Ridgway, 9 plates of fish, some tissue guards (worn, one renewed), inkstamps to rear endpaper and pastedown, some marginal damp-staining to plates, occasional light spotting or soiling, heavier to endpapers, gutter split at points with contents a little shaken, original cloth, quite worn, light staining to covers, 1887, [Nissen ZBI 4184 & 2962], 4to, Washington, D.C.; and others on the birds of Alaska and Canada, v.s. (10) ⁂ The two mentioned constituting Nos. II & III of the Arctic Series issued in connection with the Signal Service, U.S. Army. Robert Ridgway was an ornithologist at the Smithsonian Institution who established a system of colour standards and nomenclature still used today.
