    Benjamin Trott (American, 1770-1843), attributed portrait miniature of a New England Ship Captain in a rare signed case. A dashing young man with wavy hair, wearing a standup collar, jabot, yellow waist-coast, and black jacket with gold buttons. The miniature is housed in its original red folding leather case, signed by its maker: S. Tabary, New York H 3-1/2 in. W 2-3/4 in. Provenance: Fairhaven Colonial Club (house museum), Fairhaven, MA. Condition: General wear to case.
