He has created monumental outdoor sculptures for museums, corporations, and schools as well as smaller scale works for private collections. In his later years, he started painting in oil and ink. This item is accopanied by a book on the artist.

Wayne Trapp (American, d. 2016), Perot oil on canvas, signed lower right to recto, with title and second signature to verso, presented in a contemporary gilt and painted molded wood frame. Stretcher dimensions 60 x 48 in.; Frame dimensions 65 1/2 x 53 1/2 in. Wayne is an accomplished artist in a variety of media, and best known for his abstract sculptures and paintings. He grew up in Pittsburgh, and eventually settled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. He received his BFA from Ohio University, and also studied at Pratt Institute, the Art Students League of New York, and Pittsburgh's Art Institute. Wayne has completed many commissioned public pieces throughout the US. His artworks are in various museum and university collections, including Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina; Fairmont State University, Fairmont, West Virginia; The Mint Museum, Charlotte, North Carolina; Ohio State University; among many others.
