        Harold Tovish (American, 1921-2008 ) Passage, 1964-65 Unsigned, edition of two. Bronze, 40 x 35 x 16 in. (101.6 x 88.9 x 40.5 cm), with a wood pedestal. Condition: Wear to patina, surface grime. Provenance: Purchased from Terry Dintenfass Gallery, New York, c. late 1960s; Dorothy and Murray Handwerker Collection, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; by descent to the present owner. Exhibitions: Harold Tovish, The Guggenheim Museum, New York, May-June 1968. N.B. This sculpture is one of an edition of two, the second belonging to the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. The Hirshhorn sculpture was included in Harold Tovish: A Retrospective Exhibition, 1948-1988, at The Addison Gallery of American Art, Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts, October 21, 1988-January 8, 1989, as catalogue number 31 (illus. p. 36). The sculpture at hand was exhibited in the Tovish retrospective at The Guggenheim Museum in 1968.
