      12mo: front.-[34]-792 pp. (one pl. underl., one with sm. hole in the middle). - First edition of the translation of a guide to antique and "modern" Rome "Ritratto di Roma moderna" (1st 1638) divided in 6-day trips. Ill. with a front. and 82 full-page engr. pl. Woodcut coins in-text. With an overview of the most important buildings and monuments of ancient and "modern" Rome, reconstruction drawings and contemporary city views. Totti (1591 ?-1639), born in Cerreto di Spoleto, worked in Rome from 1611-1612 with the bookseller Martinelli before opening his own bookshop in 1639. - Ref. STCN. - Prov. Libr. stamp.

Marca xilografica al frontespizio, altro frontespizio calcografico con lo stemma del dedicatario duca della Dighiera, illustrazioni incise in legno e in rame nel testo, bruniture, legatura coeva in pergamena rigida, dorso a 3 nervi con titolo manoscritto, tagli a spruzzo, piccole mancanze alle stremità dei piatti e qualche foro di tarlo al dorso. Bella guida riccamente illustrata, con un'appendice con le abbreviazioni.

Mit Kupfertitel, 83 Textkupfern, Holzschnitt-Druckermarke am Schluss und zahlreichen Textholzschnitten. 17 x 11,5 cm. Flexibler Pergamentband d. Z. ((Rücken am oberen Kapital mit Einriss). Rom, Mascardi, 1638 Vgl. Cicognara 3867. – Frühe, wohl erste Ausgabe des reich illustrierten Stadtführers, mit Abbildungen der bekannten Klöster, Plätze, Paläste etc. – Es fehlt wohl der typographische Titel. Kupfertitel im oberen und unteren Bug gelöst sowie im unteren Rand gestempelt, vorderes Innengelenk angeplatzt. Innenspiegel mit altem Besitzeintrag sowie dem Exlibris des Verlegers Lambert Schneider (1900-1970).
