(Cuenca, July 13, 1925) is a Spanish painter and sculptor. A self-taught artist, together with Gerardo Rueda and Fernando Zóbel he formed the so-called "Cuenca school", which was one of the first initiatives to introduce the new currents of modern art in Spain, in the 1960s, being the founding of the Museum of Art Spanish Abstract of Cuenca - a museum of which he is a co-founder - his main initiative.           GUSTAVO TORNER (Cuenca, 1925). Untitled. Silkscreen, copy P.A. Signed and justified by hand. Measurements: 62 x 84 cm. A painter and sculptor and a member of the so-called Cuenca school, Gustavo Torner trained as a self-taught artist, and in 1956 he began to work in a purely abstract language, within the informalist current. In addition to the fine arts, he has worked in diverse fields such as scenography, and has also collaborated with the design of significant spaces such as some of the rooms of the Prado Museum or the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art in Cuenca. He is currently represented in this museum, as well as in the Patio Herreriano in Valladolid, the MNCARS, the Municipal de Arte Contemporáneo in Madrid and other collections, both public and private.
