Giuseppe Torella was born in Calciano, Italy on May 6th , 1951. Although attended Fine Arts Academy from 1973 to 1975, he is essentially self-taught artist. Inspiration drawn from the school of ‘Posillipo’ but artistic interpretation is personal and impressionistic in style.

He is an Italian artist who primarily paints scenes of the Amalfi coast. His use of various shades of blue give the water a sense of great depth as it extends toward the horizon. Also, the artist has a wonderful technique for drawing the viewer into the painting by using the walkway and steps that are lightly dappled with sunlight.
