Landschaft mit einem Zeichner am Wasser. Radierung auf festem Similijapan. 7,6 x 10,1 cm. Signiert in brauner Feder. (1895). Spaanstra-Polak: De grafiek van Jan Toorop, 1968, 11 II. Laut den Angaben von A.J.M. van Moorsel handelt es sich bei dem dargestellten Zeichner um Johan Thorn Prikker, der an einem Weiher in Haagse Bosch sitzt. Auf Empfehlung Toorops kam Prikker 1890 in die Künstlergruppe Les XX. - Ganz ausgezeichneter, feinzeichnender Abzug mit zartem Plattenton und mit Rand. Im Passepartout-Ausschnitt etwas lichtrandig, leichte Gebrauchsspuren in den äußeren Rändern, minimal angestaubt, unterhalb der Darstellung mittig leichte, vertikale Knitterspur, Spuren alter Montage recto und verso in den oberen Ecken, sonst gut erhalten. Jan Toorop (1858-1928) The Perserij. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the then director Hendrik IJssel de Schepper, Jan Toorop produced a series of twelve lithographs on behalf of the IJssel de Schepper family about the production process in the factory. The twelve original lithographs, together with historical films, photos and some articles, are part of the collection of the Royal Stearine Candle Factory Gouda and are owned by the Croda factory in Gouda. The KSKG, later Uniquema, was taken over by Croda International on 1 October 2006. In July 2022, Croda Gouda was sold to Cargill. The colour lithographs provide a realistic picture in 12 steps of the work that the men and women performed at the beginning of the Second Industrial Revolution for the manufacture of Night, Tea and Twilight Lights, Twilight Lamps and Tea Stoves. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Candle Factory, the lithographs were used by giving them away as a business gift. External dimensions are 72x61 cm

R.o. in handschrift Jan Toorop 'voor Van Maaswijk en zijn vrouw van Jan Toorop 1905' Van Maaswijk werkt van 1881-1883 in Katwijk was leerling van de Akademie Beeldende Kunst in Brussel. Daarna doceerde Van Maaswijk aan de Academie Beeldende Kunst in Rotterdam tot 1920.

Toorop, J.Th (Indonesian Dutch 1858-1928) Uit het Etswerk, losbladig uitgegeven door Uitgevers Vorst & Tas 1928 34 x 26 cm in map - Genummerde oplage van 250 exemplaren, dit is nr 14.met 7 drukken ges. met stempel Het gaat hier om een complete portfolio met zeven collotypes, een voorloper van de lithografische (offset) druk, uitgegeven door Vorst & Tas bij Jan Toorop’s overlijden in 1928. Alle zeven, losbladige, collotypes op speciaal papier, met gestempelde signatuur van Toorop, in potlood genummerd (14/250), en met blindstempel van de uitgever. De drukken zijn ook in de plaat gesigneerd. Elke afzonderlijk collotype in afzonderlijke omslag met titel op geschept papier van Van Gelder & Zonen. Deze uitgave is exemplaar nummer 14 uit een totale oplage van 250 stuks.

Signature imprimée/in the plate. JAN TOOROP (1858-1928) Dutch painter Jan Toorop is considered one of the forerunners of the movement of Art Nouveau. He also worked in the style of symbolism. The artist received his training in Amsterdam and Brussels. In 1885 he became a member of the Belgian Les Vingt, which had been founded by James Ensor, among others. Artists such as Paul Signac and Auguste Rodin were also members of this progressive group of artists.
