Jack Ting graduated from Kuala Lumpur College of Art with a Diploma of Fine Art in 1992. Since then, he has won several awards in the 1990s, as well as multiple solo exhibitions which include Ceremonies at Art Salon, Kuala Lumpur in 1998, and Drifted Glimpses at The Gallery @ Star Hill, Kuala Lumpur in 2008. He is a member of the Malaysian Watercolour Organisation, Malaysian Artist Association and Federation of Malaysian Artist, Malaysia.

        Filled with energetic movement, Jack Ting's abstract paintings reveal his affinity to the culture of his homeland in Sarawak. An exploration of textures and colour, a sense of rhythm is instilled through the application of vigorous strokes. His paintings reflect the elements of nature and light, executed with refinement. Jack Ting graduated from Kuala Lumpur College of Art with a Diploma of Fine Art in 1992. Since then, he has won several awards in the 1990s, as well as multiple solo exhibitions which include Ceremonies at Art Salon, Kuala Lumpur in 1998, and Drifted Glimpses at the Gallery @ Starhill, Kuala Lumpur in 2008. He is a member of the Malaysian Watercolour Organisation, Malaysian Artist Association and Federation of Malaysian Artist. He has participated in group exhibitions including the Post 29th Asian International Art Exhibition (AIAE), jointly organised by SGM and the Federation of Asian Artists - Malaysia Committee in 2022.

        Judging from where he came from Sarawak has one of the most unique music in the world. A traditional instrument known as Sape sounds effortlessly beautiful when a person plays it. If you look closely at this piece in an abstract style he manages to capture hints of image suggested to be Sape, Sarawakian motives and feathers.         During the British Settlement in Sarawak, there is a legendary warrior called Rentap. He was an Iban-Dayak warrior that fought fiercely against the British Colony which at the time was under governing of White Rajah. With an elegant headgear and the given nickname Libau which means “Earth Shaker” he is recognised as a remarkable hero of Sarawak to this date. The name is remembered and planted in hearts of all Sarawakian who acknowledge his fighting spirit for his people.
