    Willy Thurm, Abendfrieden zwei rastende Hirtenknaben mit Ziegen vorm Umgebindehaus, in abendlicher sommerlicher Gebirgslandschaft, pastose Landschaftsmalerei, Öl auf Leinwand, um 1940, rechts unten signiert "W. Thurm" und undeutlich datiert, rückseitig auf dem Keilrahmen bezeichnet "Thurm" und Annotation "WG 99", gerahmt, Falzmaße ca. 75 x 95 cm. Künstlerinfo: eigentlich Hermann Willy Thurm, dt. Tier- und Landschaftsmaler (1880 Reudnitz bei Leipzig bis 1964 Rosenheim), studierte zunächst an der Akademie Leipzig, ab 1902 Studium an der Akademie Dresden bei Eugen Bracht und Emanuel Hegenbarth, zeitweise mit Emanuel Hegenbarth zur Fortbildung in München, hier Anregung durch Heinrich von Zügel, Mitglied und langjähriger Vorstand des Leipziger Kunstvereins, Mitglied im Reichsverband Bildender Künstler Deutschlands und in der Allgemeinen Deutschen Kunstgenossenschaft, beschickte Ausstellungen in Mitteldeutschland, München und Hamburg, tätig in Leipzig-Sellerhausen, die letzten Lebensjahre in Rosenheim im Chiemgau, Quelle: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Dressler, Matrikel der Akademie Dresden und Homepage des Malers. Artist information: actually Hermann Willy Thurm, German animal and landscape painter. Animal and landscape painter (1880 Reudnitz near Leipzig to 1964 Rosenheim), initially studied at the Leipzig Academy, from 1902 studied at the Dresden Academy under Eugen Bracht and Emanuel Hegenbarth, at times with Emanuel Hegenbarth for further training in Munich, here inspired by Heinrich von Zügel, Member and long-standing board member of the Leipziger Kunstverein, member of the Reich Association of Visual Artists in Germany and the Allgemeine Deutsche Kunstgenossenschaft, organised exhibitions in central Germany, Munich and Hamburg, active in Leipzig-Sellerhausen, spent the last years of his life in Rosenheim in Chiemgau, source: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Dressler, matriculation register of the Dresden Academy and the painter's homepage.

Two men load a card, drawn by two horses with hay. Cut to the right of the image screen, another hay cart can be seen. On the horizon, a mountain range separates the green plain of the cloudy sky. Born in Leipzig the painter Willy Thurm (1880-1964) studied at the Academy there and in Dresden and under Eugen Bracht and Joseph Hegenbarth. Pictures of animals and landscapes are the preferred subject of the painter. The painting is signed lower right ‘Thurm’. It is in good age-appropriate condition with slight surface soiling and small framing traces. The painting measures 60.5 x 80.5 cm. The framed conditions are 77 x 97.5 cm.
