[CHINA] THOMSON, JOHN (attributed). [Chinese Woman and servant], about 1868. Albumen print on printing out paper, 10 1/4 x 8 inches. Some surface creasing, two corners with tiny chips, but with good strong tones. An especially striking image, attributed to Thomson by Carrington-Goodrich in The Face of China...1860-1912, Aperture, 1978. It is illustrated on p. 60 (the present example was the copy of the image used in that book). C
