        [Loggie de Rafaele nel Vaticano] Sei fogli incisi su rame da Giovanni Volpato su soggetti di Ludovico Teseo, [1774 -1777], due fogli giuntati insieme, in coloritura a tempera moderna, in basso a destra firmato dal disegnatore ed a sinistra dall’incisore, due con al centro il privilegio papale di Clemente XIV, qualche arrossatura in prossimità dei margini. Le tavole appartengono alla terza dispensa del volume "Logge di Rafaele nel Vaticano" realizzata entro il 1777 in cui Giovanni da Volpato, in collaborazione con Ludovico Teseo, riproduce i pilastri esterni delle Logge Vaticane completando l'operazione già iniziata dall'incisore Giovanni Ottaviani in collaborazione con il pittore Gaetano Savorelli e l'architetto Pietro Camporesi che avevano precedentemente tradotto i pilastri a festoni, la sezione di un quarto di ogni volta con lunetta e gli estradossi corrispondenti tra il 1768 e il 1769. 6 1774

        Vatican Loggia, Twelve Hand-colored Plates by Giovanni Ottaviani (1735-1808) after drawings by Ludovico Teseo (1731-1782) after frescoes by Raphael (1483-1520) [from] Loggie di Rafaele nel Vaticano, 1772-1777. Twelve copper-plate engravings, numbered I through XII, depicting twelve ceiling panels from the Vatican Loggia, each carefully and completely hand-colored in very good contemporary gouache, the group still bound together, with front marbled endpaper present, blank endleaves only at the end, the plates interleaved with blanks, contents generally good, with slight loss of surface on some pages, marginal tears, finger marks, old folds, 25 1/2 x 29 1/4 in.
