    "Magnesite Kilns", homemade natural pigments on hardboard, signed lower right. Fragment of exhibition label verso, typed label reads: "This painting with the exception of the cobalt blue and the white ground used, is entirely done with colors manufactured from raw California earths and ground in oil in the Research Department of the Federal Art Project in Area 8. The yellows and reds came from the Oakland Area and the greens are from the Mojave desert." In geometric stepped gilt frame, OS: 18 1/2" x 16 1/2", SS: 11 1/2" x 9 1/2".
