Cornelis Cornelisz. Tartarius Active in Amsterdam and Haarlem during the 17th Century a coastal landscape with a drover attending his animals before a ruined church signed lower right: C.Tart***** oil on canvas 58.4 by 83.5 cm.; 23 by 33 in. A similar landscape by Tartarius, also signed, was sold from the collection of Admiral Bainbridge, London, Christie's, 23 November 1928, lot 104, for 32 pounds to Graveley (see Witt library mount).
