Vu Dan Tan (1946-2009) Self-taught Vu Dan Tan is one of the most important contemporary artists in Vietnam. He first worked at Hanoi Television’s cartoon film studio and made trips through Russia and Cuba, during which he perfected his painting skills. In the early 1990s he founded together with his wife and the Salon Natasha, the only independent exhibition space in the country. Characteristic of Vu Dan Tan's works, which had been shown internationally in exhibitions, is the use of waste as cigarette boxes and other packaging, with which he create small-format collages or large installations.
