Raised in a family of Disney employees, Taliaferro became Gottfredson's collaborator for "Mickey Mouse" (ink and lettering) as early as 1931. But Taliaferro is Donald Duck's man, in fact he immediately becomes his graphic designer, increasing the character's weight in the Disney universe.

In 2000, Disney Art Classics proposed a series of historical strips made over the years by various Disney authors as a tribute to the master Carl Barks, creator of Uncle Scrooge and symbol of an entire generation of fans, Barks personally signed each of these strips. One of Scrooge's typical outbursts at poor Donald Duck, Barks and Taliaferro two of the greatest Disney masters of all time, in his passepartout with certificate of authenticity, a museum piece.
