Represented in soft, smooth running lines; comparable sculptures fetch up to €4,500 at international auctions The marble sculpture offered here was created by the Hungarian-French artist László Szabó around 1980. The figure of a standing woman shows the artist's typical organic form language and appears in a cohesive form. The sculpture is mounted in a square marble base that bears a brass plaque with the name 'László Szabó' engraved. The sculpture is in very good condition. The lower corners of the base minimally bumped. Total height approx. 50 cm. László Szabó (1917-1984) László Szabó was born in 1917 in the Hungarian town Debrecen. He studied at the Universities of Debrecen, Geneva, Lausanne and Paris, where he eventually began to sculpture. His studio was considered a meeting place for young sculptors. Since 1949 he exhibited regularly at the Salon de la Jeune Sculpture, since 1951 also in the Salon des Nouvelles Réalités, followed by other international exhibitions. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
