From a very important collection: lugt 971, Friedrich August von Sachsen. All 6 etchings complete with narrow margins. Very good dark strong impressions. The set is born together.

Visscher met Privil:" (below image), each numb. in lower right corner below image. - Hollstein 7 cut to the borderline, lacks the address, number and title of the series below; all other prints cut just/ a few mm. outside the borderline. = Hollstein 107-112, 1st and only state. Molijn, Pieter de (1595-1663). Woman with a basket and a boy standing near a peasant seated. Etching from the Set of landscapes with figures (four plates), 15,1x18,5 cm., "4" engr. in lower right corner. - Later impression on wove paper. = De Groot, Landscape 86; Freedberg p.38-39 ("the last of the great Haarlem pioneers"); Hollstein 3, 3rd state (of 3). Ansicht von Stockholm, mit dem am 24. November 1680 zu Ehren Königin Ulrike Eleonore errichteten Triumphbogen. Radierung auf zwei zusammengefügten Bögen. 25,4 x 57,7 cm. 1691. Hollstein 123. Wz. Wappen von Amsterdam. Wenig ist bekannt über die künstlerische Tätigkeit des aus Amsterdam stammenden Radierers Willem Swidde. Auf Empfehlung seines Kollegen Nicolaes Visscher kam Swidde 1688 nach Schweden, um die Illustration von historischen und topographischen Darstellungen des Quartiermeisters Erik Dahlberg in Kupfer zu übertragen. Neben seinem ersten Auftrag, der Ausführung der Kupferstiche zu "De Rebus a Carlo Gustavo Sveciae Regis", der Geschichte König Carl X. Gustaf von Schweden (1622-1660), widmete Swidde sich seit 1690 der Übertragung topographischer Motive Stockholms. Bis zu seinem frühen Tod 1697 schuf Willem Swidde u.a. knapp 76 Darstellungen für Dahlbergs Folge "Suecia antiqva et hodierna", zu der auch vorliegendes Blatt zu rechnen ist. - Ausgezeichneter, prägnanter Druck mit schmalem Rand, links mit feinem Rändchen sowie partiell bis an die Plattenkante geschnitten. Vertikale Falzspuren, im linken weißen Rand schwache Spuren einer alten Montierung, sonst vorzüglich erhalten. Selten.
