The man is sitting on a tree trunk waiting for an offer. A little boy is standing next to the scene; observing the events fascinated. The scene takes place in an Alpine region. A green mountain range is in the right background discernible. The oil painting by Arthur Strothmann is in very good condition with only minor abrasions at its edges, due to a former framing.
