        Est: €1,200 - €1,500

Oil on canvas Düsseldorf, 2000 Martin Streit (b. 1964) - German painter and photographer Signed, dated and inscribed with black felt tip on the reverse 'M. Streit 2000 Düsseldorf' Dimensions: 20.5 x 25.5 cm Very good condition Provenance: Private collection, Hesse Characteristic painting by Martin Streit, who follows the artistic question concerning the experience of the world In his paintings Martin Streit initiates a form of perception, which seems to neglect the concrete object, and yet relies on forms such as balls, bowls and similar voluminous boxes. The artist prefers small formats and creates optical layers of color that only gradually unveil their shapes. The present painting thus appears to be a characteristic example of the painter's artistic approach and encourages us to think about the condition and textures of supposedly objective certainties. The painting is signed, dated and inscribed with black felt tip on the reverse 'M. Streit 2000 Düsseldorf'. It is in very good condition. The size of the stretcher is 20.5 x 25.5 cm. Martin Streit (b. 1964) Martin Streit was born in Koblenz, Germany. He first completed an apprenticeship to become an art glazier, between 1983 and 1986. He then moved to Münster, where he deepened his artistic training at the Academy of Arts. Here, he attended the painting class of Gotthard Graubner, whose master student he became in 1995. Martin Streit has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany, since 1990. His latest art project was an installation of a walk-in Camera Obscura, realized on the Domplatte of the Cologne Cathedral in August/September 2014. The artist lives and works in Cologne and Andernach-Kell. (cbo) Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
