Raimund von Stillfried und Rathenitz (1839-1911) In the 1860s, Raimund von Stillfried und Rathenitz traveled to China, North America and Japan. In Japan, he worked for a time as a photographer in Yokohama, where he scored in the 1870s as one of the leading photographers. In addition to portraits, he photographed numerous genre scenes and landscapes that he often colored by hand. At that time, his genre scenes from foreign countries were popular souvenirs on the European market. In 1883, von Stillfried und Rathenitz returned to Vienna, where he worked as a photographer to the court and as a painter.
