Nanny Elisabet Still McKinney ( 31 July 1926 in Helsinki - 7 May 2009 in Brussels , Belgium ) was a Finnish glass artist. [1] During the golden age of the Finnish art industry in the 1950s Still belonged to the great names of design. [2]

Still graduated from the Art School of Applied Arts (the current college ) from the Metal Arts Department in 1949. In the same year, he won the Nordic design competition for Riihimäki glass , which allowed him to be hired at the factory. He is best known for his work at Riihimäki Glass. At the factory, he designed both artwork and exercise books. Still worked at the Riihimäki glass factory until the 1970s when Riihimäki's production moved from hand-held blast glass technology to automated production. [2]

Still married in 1958 with American George McKinney and moved to Brussels in 1959. He continued in Belgium Still living in his artistic career by designing objects at the Rosenthal factory glassworks. [2]

During his versatile career, Still designed almost all the jewelery in the frying pan. The crystalline artwork designed by the exhibition in Paris in 1956, Tourmaline, is part of his characteristical work. [2] Known for his glass shapes designed for his Riihimäki glass are Harlekiini, Flindari and Grapponi . For Rosenthal's work planned in the 1990s, for example, Samoa series vases. [3]

Still got the Pro Finlandia Medal in 1972. [2]
