      Whitish, glazed eggshell porcelain shards, polychrome painted The Hague, Netherlands, circa 1905 Design: Roelof Sterken (1877-1943) – Dutch ceramics painter Execution: Haagsche Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg (1883-1916) – Dutch porcelain and ceramic manufactory Base stamped ‘Rozenburg / den Haag’ with stork (manufacturer’s mark) below crown, year mark to the left, mark of the painting department with ‘679’ the right and artist’s monogram ‘RS’ Height: 12.5 cm Very good condition The eggshell porcelains of the porcelain manufactory in Rozenburg, active only from 1883 to 1917, are a very popular field of collecting. Here a vase with the glazing décor executed by Roelof Sterken. On square base baluster corpus with tight neck and flared mouth. The white ground with stylized floral motifs in yellow, red, green, purple and brown. The eggshell porcelains of the porcelain manufactory in Rozenburg, active only from 1883 to 1917, are a very popular field of collecting. Here a vase with the glazing décor executed by Roelof Sterken. Condition: The porcelain vase is in very good condition. It is 12.5 cm in height. Haagsche Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg (1883-1917) The Rozenburg porcelain factory was established in 1883 by W.W. von Gudenberg (1855-1930) under the name ‘N. V. Haagsche Plateelfabrik Rozenburg’. It specialized in tableware and vases with shapes and decoration of Art Nouveau. In 1884, the Designer Th. C. A. Colenbrander (1841-1930) joined the factory as artistic director. He is considered the greatest innovator of Dutch ceramics. In 1894, the position was taken over by J. J. Kok, who introduced the production of eggshell porcelain, which enjoyed great popularity around 1900 and is still famous to this date.
