The inspection under UV light reveals several large and small areas of retouching. The paint surface shows some slight craquelure. The signature has been repainted. The frame is minimally worn. The frame measures 57 x 61.5 cm, and the size of the painting is 46 x 51.5 cm. Elisabeth Stechele-Maurer (1885 - after 1958) Elisabeth Stechele-Maurer was based in Munich as a portrait and landscape painter. She was a student of Carl Blos at the Munich Academy.
