    HEILIGER NEPOMUK 47,5 x 29,5 cm. Anbei eine Expertise von Dr. Albrecht Miller vom 11.6.2019, welcher das Relief an Josef Thaddäus Stammel gibt und es auf ca. 1730/35 datiert. Lindenholz, geschnitzt und gefasst. Ovale Kartusche in mitgeschnitzter Wulstrahmung mit Bandelwerkzier und symmetrisch gestaltetem Giebelabschluss mit plastischen Blüten und Strahlen. Zentrale Darstellung des Heiligen Nepomuk, ein Kreuz tragend, über ihm ein Engel, ihm einen Lorbeerkranz darbringend. Eine ehemalige Verwendung als Bekrönung eines Beichtstuhls erscheint Dr. Miller als möglich. Rückwärtige Randbeschädigung. Literatur: Vgl.: Regina Ahlgrimm-Siess, Josef Stammel (1695-1765).     Stammel, Josef Thaddäus — St. John of Nepomuk (Graz 1695-1765 Admont) Around 1730/35. In an oval profile frame with a crowning adornment carved representation of the saint as a half-portrait, holding his attributes - a crucifix and a palm branch - in his hands, the angel hovering above him in a gesture of silence points to the martyrdom of the saint, who was forced to break the confessional secret. Lime wood with old, polychrome setting. 48 x 30 cm. - The relief could be a part of a cycle or an individual piece, which could have been attached to a confessional, for example as a crowning. The movement of the figures, the delicacy of the carving and the idiosyncratic shimmering folds are typical of the works of the baroque sculptor Stammel. - With expertise Dr. Albrecht Miller.
