1980s Tom Stade Watercolor Painting Farm Scene

      Est: $400 - $600

**Originally Listed At $500** Thomas Stade (American, b. 1948). Untitled watercolor, ca. 1980s. A striking watercolor presenting a charming agricultural theme, featuring the lower end of a tractor or farm vehicle with several white sacks of grain below, all delineated in Tom Stade's quasi-photorealist style. The scene is very close to the picture plane, and Stade's composition dramatically zooms in, cutting off most of the vehicle, so that the true subject is the cluster of white sacks of grain - fruits of the farmer's labor. In addition, Stade used a soothing color palette and demonstrated a keen command of light effects in this painting. Size of painting: 28.875" W x 19.75" H (73.3 cm x 50.2 cm) Size of matte: 37.875" W x 27.875" H (96.2 cm x 70.8 cm) Thomas Stade was raised in Gladstone, Michigan and earned his degree in illustration at the Kendall School of Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His work has earned several awards and he is avidly collected, particularly in the Grand Rapids area. Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids. We ship worldwide and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience. #162541
