Taken in Sharp's Bellevue Hill home, Wirrian, the image employs Stacey's distinct camera obscura technique. Stacey's practice, explored in her series 'Dark Wonder,' revives the centuries-old method of camera obscura by blacking out a room's windows, allowing a single pinhole of light to project an inverted, reversed view of the outside world onto the walls within. This view, seen from Sharp's home, adds a haunting presence to his final work.

Her compositions are highly constructed, and informed by history, science, literature and screen culture. She gives equal weight and care to each subject - whether an entomological specimen, a still life of colonial glassware, or an architectural view constructed by a camera obscura. Stacey manipulates the still photographic image into a hum of suspense, as the works mark a threshold between audience and unknown performance".
