Notes: Amy Millicent Sowerby was an English painter and illustrator celebrated for her works in classic children's literature. Influenced by Arts & Crafts exponents such as Thomas Crane and Kate Greenaway, she was one of the earliest women to illustrate Lewis Carroll's 1865 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'.
