Biography

Julio Sonco studied at the Regional School of Fine Arts, Erba Arequipa, Peru and at the Claudio Bravo Serigraphy Studio in New York. He has won numerous awards for his vibrant watercolors depicting the beauty and life of Peru. Sonco has exhibited widely in Peru, Mexico, and the United States; including exhibitions at Galeria Atenea in San Miguel Allende in Mexico, Centro Asturiano in Mexico, Museo De La Acuarela in Mexico, the Cathay Gallery in Washington, D.C., the Gilpin House Gallery in Virginia, Galeria Pluma in Bogota, North American Embassy Residence in Peru, Galleria Del Blanco Popular Del Peru, Salon Nacional De Aquarela Peru.
