    SCHLACHT AUF HOHER SEE Öl auf Holz. 25,5 x 36,5 cm. Verso alter Aufkleber mit Verweis auf den Künstler. In dekorativem Rahmen. Im Zentrum des Geschehens ein prachtvoller Mehrmaster mit gesetzten Segeln, gerade nach rechts auf eine braune Fregatte sowie nach links auf eine weitere Fregatte mit ausgefahrenen Rudern, Kanonenschüsse abfeuernd, deren Rauch in den Himmel steigt. Im Hintergrund der See mit gleichmäßigem Wellengang, mehrere Schiffe schemenhaft erkennbar. Die Seeschlacht unter hohem bräunlichen Himmel mit weißen Wolkenformationen. (1361715) (2) (18)

    olio su tavola parchettata, cm. 53x75, Pittore olandese specialista in marine, fu soprattutto dedito a raffigurare scene di battaglie navali della prima e seconda guerra anglo-olandese (1652-1654 e 1665-1667), in cui la flotta inglese, secondo un accordo stipulato con la Repubblica Genovese, accoppiava alla propria bandiera, quella della Croce di San Giorgio, per non subire attacchi dalle navi spagnole alleate con i Genovesi.
