    Edward Slocombe (United Kingdom 1850 - 1915) color photo engraving and aquatint. Signed by artist in pencil lower left. Signed and dated (1888) in plate lower left. Work titled 'Amiens Cathedral.' Remarque of gargoyle lower right. Measures 22.25-in. x 16.375-in. image size, 25-in. x 18.75-in. sheet size. In VG/VG+ condition, with sheet edges folded to secure print to art board. These edges appear to be glued to board along one edge. Unframed. Slocombe was born into a family of artists; his brothers Charles Philip (1832-1895) and Frederick (1847-1920) were all etchers. Edward regularly exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1873 and 1904 and published his work in Hamerton’s The Portfolio and The Art Journal. In frame with mat (no glass) each measures 18.25x27. Weight combined 6 pds.
