Dale Slavin Sold at Auction Prices

Dale Slavin was born in Cleveland, Ohio. His art career began to focus while taking art classes at the National Art and Music Camp at Interlochen, Michigan. A graduate of Bowling Green University, School of Art, he accepted a position as an art instructor in Orange County, New York, where he continued his education receiving a Master's Degree in Sculpture from State University of New York at New Paltz. Having had success in national shows throughout the Northeast, he was invited to become a member of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, Hartford, Connecticut, and elected to the prestigious Silvermine Guild of Artists. Slavin's work is also represented in several galleries and museums. Slavin now devotes his full time to studio work, filling corporate and private commissions, and creating new work. Known primarily for his work as a bronze and stone sculptor, Slavin has also worked as an ironworker, iconographer, graphic artist and billboard painter, a professional puppeteer, and a restorationist. His teaching career culminated as Director of Fine and Performing Arts at Gilmour Academy, Gates Mills, Ohio. He and his wife Janice reside in Chagrin Falls, Ohio with their daughter Chloe.
