SKRED Sold at Auction Prices

b. 1988 -

Roulland T. aka "SKRED" was born in Caen in 1988, he is a self-taught artist, discovered on the street. At a young age, drawing attracted him and quickly disturbed his school work. He began space painting in 2002 (painting with spray paint) followed by graffiti, something he does regularly.

His paintings came into being through his experience in Street Art. He often uses spray paint or a marker, he also paints with a brush or with those things he invents (cardboard, foam, plastic bag, etc.). His explosive paint projections are groups of tags on colored backgrounds. He uses various mediums (sculpture, canvas, wood, wall, paper, cardboard) and different places: buildings, trains...

"In my studio, I go with the flow of my inspiration while painting and making sculptures, these are saved or stored ideas which I release and then I interact these ideas with colors and forms. The outcome is very personal work as I unveil my thoughts and emotions but at the same time these can concern just anyone. I focus on pure expressions so that the viewer is able to provide his own response, at first glance. Through this street art, I was able to discover my very own artistic style and philosophy".

He began exhibiting in galleries, 2008 onward. Due to his concern for democratization, he simultaneously renewed ties with the outside, walls, streets, city, life. His work has been purchased by several private collectors in France, but also in Europe and United States.
