      Jiri Sindler (Czech, 1922 - 2015) was a Czech artist, graphic artist, painter, illustrator, calligrapher, high school and university teacher. Šindler entered the Antonín Strnadel Studio (1943–1950) at the School of Applied Arts . From 1945–1948, he completed a month-long internship with the printer Vlastimil Vokolek. He taught writing and promotional graphics at the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts (1969–1983, 1998-2005), calligraphy and the basics of writing theory at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Technology (1992–2011). In 2007 he was awarded the Medal of St. Peter and Paul, and in 2014 he was awarded the Medal of St. Cyril and Methodius. reverse (translation from Czech): "apocrypha 2 - woodcut" Measurements: 10 3/4"x14 7/8"
