BIOGRAPHY: Walter Sherwood was born July 1875 Worcestershire, England. He immigrated from his residence in Birmingham England arriving from Liverpool on 27 Oct 1916, from the actual passenger records.He was an itinerant artist who rode a bicycle around the Rhode Island countryside painting barns, farms, and pictures of farmers' families, notably children. He often painted in lieu of room and board, but he also helped the farmers with haying in season.He is well-known in England for his portraiture, and several hang in this country of quite notable people. He passed away in November, 1950, in Providence, RI.
