Marine and landscape artist Frank Sherwin was born 1896 in Derbyshire, England, and was the son of painter Samuel S. Sherwin. Bright depictions of Yorkshire, Plymouth, and Worcestershire landscapes, in oil paints and watercolors, are among artist Frank Sherwin's most recognizable pieces. He also produced art for both the British and Scottish railways, creating posters or other print illustrations.

Watercolor painter Frank Sherwin was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists, and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. He was actively exhibiting in London from 1926 to 1947, and became known for his colorful representations of England's waterways and beaches.
