    Vintage American modernist abstract oil painting by Stuart Shedletsky (1944-2006). Oil on panel. Signed. Measuring 12 by 16 inches. Artist Bio: Stuart Shedletsky was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1944. He studied at the Parsons School of Design and the University of New Mexico before receiving his M.F.A. from Yale University. He spent many years teaching drawing and painting at Parsons School of Design. Shedletsky passed away in 2006. His estate is currently maintained and managed by the Brooklyn Artists Gym. Please see all images for condition. Size is measured and written on the back of the painting. The first size is the overall size, the second size is the image size. He received his degrees from Parsons School of Design, the University of New Mexico and later M.F.A. from Yale University. Shedletsky was a professor of drawing and painting at Parsons School of Design for many years. His works are known for their expressive geometric figurations and are in the collection of the Whitney Museum. CONDITION The painting is in good condition, visible pinholes to the corners and edges, overall visible scattered surface staining, creasing along the edges, especially to the lower right corner and to the upper right.
