      Jun. 09, 2006

JOHN T. SHARP, (AMERICAN B. 1944), TWO BIRDS ON A BRANCH

      Est: $2,500 - $4,000

JOHN T. SHARP (american b. 1944) TWO BIRDS ON A BRANCH Signed and dated "J. Sharp 87" on the base, carved wood H: 17 in.; W: 22 3/4 in.; D: 23 1/4 in. (43.2 x 57.8 x 59.1cm) Estimate $2,500-4,000 -Generally very good condition. -The birds and tree branch appear well modeled and we see no evidence of breaks or repairs. - Imperfections, some losses to outer layer of wood and pitting to parts of base, particularly outer edge of base, and we note a minor surface loss to spot near base of branch may be intended by the artist, rather than condition problems. - Large visible splits in base are also presumed to not be condition defects. .
