Date: 19th century Description: Heinrich Nüsser's engravings show great delicacy of line. One of his great works is the contribution to Friedrich Overbeck's work on the Gospels.       Carl Wilhelm Overbeck (1820 Halle on the Saale - 1860 Dresden) after Joseph Anton Settegast (1813 Koblenz - 1890 Mainz): Miraculous depiction Ascensio Domini, Transfiguration of Christ, Transfiguration, 19th century, Steel engraving Technique: Steel engraving on Paper Inscription: Signed on the left and right below the image, inscribed in the centre below. Date: 19th century Description: The miracle depiction Ascensio Domini in the style of the Nazarenes takes up the compositional structure of Raphael's Transfiguration in large parts. In Overbeck's work, too, the floating Christ is flanked by two angels, he has his arms outstretched, and at his feet on the ground are the followers of Jesus.
