        WEBLEY & SCOTT MODEL 1909 SEMI AUTO PISTOL.

        Cal. 9mm Browning Long. S# 46379. Standard model of which approx.1700 mfg. from 1909-15 within S# range 16000-116873. Standard Webley marks on left side of slide & crown "B" on right hand side of frame opposite S#. No visible import marks. Matching S# on grips & unmarked mag. CONDITION: traces of bright blue but has medium oxidation around front sight & moderate pinprick oxidation with scratches on balance of surfaces. Also has abundance of dried lubricant requiring loosening to facilitate functioning. Grips are sound but with numerous light handling marks. Last 1/2" of bore has some moderate pitting; balance near excellent. Functioning somewhat sluggish but should clean to proper operation. (13-982/NW). CURIO. $600-1000.

        Rare Webley & Scott Model 1909 Semi-Automatic Pistol

        Produced from 1909 to 1914, only 1700 of these pistols were made, mostly for the South African police and they are hard to find today with any finish. Blade front and windage adjustable rear sights, with Birmingham proofs on the chamber and slide. The left side of the slide is marked with the Webley flying bullet logo ahead of the three line address and caliber markings. Polished trigger, trigger guard and serrated hammer, checkered grips with a lanyard staple on the left panel, and "210" painted in yellow on the underside of the nickel magazine. BBL: 5 inch round Stock: Gauge: 9 mm Browning Finish: blue Grips: hard rubber Serial Number: 116624 Condition: Excellent, with 90% of the bright original blue finish, with a gray patina forming on the lower grip straps (due to cleaning), bright edge wear and scattered spotting and handling marks. Grips are very good, with a small chip on the right panel and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
