      Antontio Scilipoti (American, 1884-1967). Oil on Board, a view of Rockport, Massachusetts from the shore. Titled and attributed on verso. Measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" (with frame 11" x 12 7/8"). Board is loose in frame and the frame is beginning to separate at the seams.

      Antonio Scilipoti (New Jersey, 1884 - 1967) "Ready for Launching" 1945Signed lower right. Oil/Canvas. Sight Size: 17.5 x 23.5 in. Overall Size: 23.5 x 29.5 in. He was a member of the Morris County Art Society, exhibiting and selling his oil paintings at the numerous shows of that very active arts group. His summer vacations were also devoted to art and he and Rosa would travel to the Cape Ann, Massachusetts area, primarily to the Rockport Art Colony at Bearskin Neck where Antonio took formal art instruction, probably at the Aldro T. Hibbard School which dominated the art colony. Many of his paintings reflect the influences of the Rockport and New England coastal area.
