The cuoppa is decorated with images of saints in entwined arcades, the figure of St. Christopher is recognisable, carrying the infant Jesus on his shoulder. The cuppa is carried on (probably a total of six) outstretched forearms, the hands pointing in the respective direction. The inscription "ZUM ABSCHIED" appears at the foot. The drinking horn rests in the strong branches of an oak, which forms the stem and foot of the drinking vessel. On the thin side a hunter slumbers, on the lid wild animals perform a round dance.     Moritz von Schwind (1804 Vienna - 1871 Munich): Reinecke Fox Plays Hunting Horn for Dancing Rabbits (Drinking Cup), 19th century, Etching Technique: Etching on China paper, rolled-on on Paper Date: Description: Numbered "33." on the plate at the top right above the depiction. On the lid of the drinking cup depicted, Reiecke Fuchs squats and blows his hunting horn. Below, on the cup, we see a pair of 'dancing' hares on their hind paws. Schwind decorated the foot of the cup with short-legged hunting dogs, such as dachshunds, hunting through the curly undergrowth.
