    Hans Schwathe, Büste Kaiser Franz Josef I. datiert 1889 und signiert "Schwathe", Bronze dunkel patiniert, Brustdarstellung des österreichischen Kaisers im Ornat des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies, auf postamentartiger Plinthe, auf getrepptem und gekehltem Sockel aus Marmor, dieser rückseitig mit Chip, partiell berieben und grünspanig, Altersspuren, H Bronze ca. 30 cm, H gesamt ca. 35 cm. Künstlerinfo: eigentlich Johannes Schwathe, österreichischer Bildhauer und Medailleur (1870 Strachwitzthal/Österreichisch-Schlesien bis 1950 Wien), 1887-1890 Ausbildung als Steinmetz mit Schwerpunkt Marmorbearbeitung an der Schlesischen Staatsfachschule für Steinbearbeitung/Saubsdorf unter Fachschuldirektor Eduard Zelenka, Studium an der k.k. Kunstgewerbeschule des k.k. Österreichischen Museums für Kunst und Industrie/Wien unter Otto König und August Kühne bis 1898, anschließend ein Jahr Arbeitsstipendium in Italien, 1902-1913 Lehrtätigkeit an Wiener Mittelschulen, nach dem 1. Weltkrieg ansässig in Wien, sein Atelier wurde zum Ende des 2. Weltkriegs durch einen Luftangriff zerstört. Quelle: Wikipedia.de

Each pillar is decorated with rings in relief and is mounted on a footed base decorated with lotus and foliage motifs. Signed on reverse of one foot: "H. Schwathe".
