FRANZ XAVER SCHWARZ - Current Bid: $100.00

    Est: $200 - $300

FRANZ XAVER SCHWARZ (1875 - 1947) German politician who served as the treasurer of the N.S.D.A.P. for most of the party's existence. Scarce T.L.S. as Treasurer of the N.S.D.A.P., 1p. legal folio, Munich, June 18, 1938 in German to Josef Burckel, Reickskommisasar for Austria (Ostmark) concerning the procurement of 3000 organizational books for the Nazi Party in Austria. Noting that he had communicated with Dr. Robert Ley on the matter, Schwarz requests that Burckel report on the results of his meeting with Dr. Ley on the matter. Germany had annexed Austria (Anschluss) in March 1938. Burckel, as Reichskommissar for the Ostmark, organized the plebiscite of April 10 that overwhelmingly approved the absorption of Austria into Germany. It was then up to Burckel to solidify the union, integrating Austria in to the Reich politically, economically and culturally. The distribution of party "Organisationsbuchern" were part of that master plan of integration. Light folds, file holes at left margin, else fine condition.
