        WOLFGANG ALEXANDER SCHLOSSER (1913-1984) OSVOBOZENÁ CÍNA / [LIBERATED CHINA.] 1949. 37x24 inches, 94x61 cm. Statni Tiskarna, Prague. Condition A-: minor tears and abrasions at edges. Paper. Schlosser studied book design in Leipzig and art in Cologne and Prague. During World War II he fled to England, where he designed propaganda posters for the British Ministry of Information. Returning to Czechoslovakia after the war he worked as a graphic and exhibition designer. He is best remembered for the posters he designed for Czechoslovak Airlines (CSA) right after the war. After the Soviet invasion, Schlosser turned his artistic hand towards pro-state, anti-West propaganda and movie posters.
