Artist info: actually Charles David Isaacson, called Chuck, called himself "Saxon" as an artist, us-American illustrator, commercial and advertising artist as well as cartoonist, animated film designer and musician (1920 Brooklyn/New York City to 1988 Stamford/Connecticut), studied at Columbia University in New York City from 1936-40, artistically self-taught, at the same time drummer in various jazz bands and editor of the humour magazine "Jester", later employed as an editor at Dell Publishing, 1943-45 participated in World War 2 as a pilot in the United States Army Air Corps, then returned to New York. Accompanied by 2 annual reports and a sheet of printed captions. Generally fine, occasional toning, smudges and adhesive residue. Charles Saxon's rubberstamp to rectos of preliminaries and versos of finished illustrations. Illustrations by the New Yorker cartoonist for the California Casualty Group 1980 Annual Report. Gags revealing the foibles of businessmen were a specialty of Saxon's, who received the National Cartoonist Society Advertising Award in 1977 and a Reuben Award in 1980.
