JACOB SAVERY the Younger (1592 Amsterdam 1651) Adam and Eve in Paradise. Oil on panel. 46 × 70.8 cm. Certificate: Dr Klaus Ertz, 9.6.2021. Provenance: – Estate of a family of pharmacists, Vienna. – Private collection, Vienna. – Private collection, Salzburg. Exhibited: Salzburg 2015, Sinnesfreuden. Tanz, Musik, Spiel und Jagd, Residenzgalerie Salzburg, 20.11.2015–3.7.2016. --------------- JACOB SAVERY d. J. (1592 Amsterdam 1651) Adam und Eva in einer Paradieslandschaft. Öl auf Holz. 46 × 70,8 cm. Gutachten: Dr. Klaus Ertz, 9.6.2021. Provenienz: - Nachlass einer Apotheker-Familie, Wien. - Privatsammlung Wien. - Privatsammlung Salzburg. Ausstellung: Salzburg 2015, Sinnesfreuden.

      May. 09, 2020

      Jacob II Savery (1593/95 - 1651) - Noah’s Ark

      Est: €15,000 - €20,000

The painting depicts a slightly overgrown landscape, divided by the river delta, which leads to a wide surface of the water with Noah's Ark, onto which various kinds of animals are embarking. According to the Bible, Noah gathered two of each animal species, therefore saving them from the flood, which was to destroy the wicked world. This popular theme did allow artists to present different kinds of animals and birds, often rare and unusual.
