In fine condition with a sheet size of 15 x 18 inches and on nice white colored watercolor paper - there are some tape stains on the verso which do not affect the image. Jack Savage's family moved from Buckinghamshire to London when WWI ended. At that time, he worked for a printing firm in London. In 1940 until the end of WWII, he served in North Africa and Italy in the Royal Artillery. In 1945 he set up a commercial art and photographic studio, specializing in medical advertising. Throughout his life, Savage painted. He exhibited at the Langham Sketch Club, the Croyden Art Society, The Royal Institute of Painters in Water colours, The Royal Institute of Painters in Oils, the Mall Galleries, and the City of London Guidhall Exhibitions. In 1970, he retired to Pakefield, near Lowestoft, where he painted full time. Between 1971 and 1976, he had three one man shows at the Haste Gallery Brilliant coloring !!!
