        Sister Cora Helena Sarle (Canterbury, New Hampshire, 1867-1956), "View of Clough's Pond." Oil on tin (7.5 x 5.25 inches, sight). Frame: H: 10.75 in., W: 8.5 in., D: 1.125 in. Provenance: Affixed with a label on the back handwritten "Provenance given to W.S.M. by Eldress Bertha Lindsay." This lot includes newspaper clippings about the artist, and a reproduction of a photograph of Clough's Pond in Canterbury, New Hampshire. It also includes an "Antiques and The Arts Weekly" article, dated July 11, 1997, reporting about a mail-order auction of Shaker material held in Ashfield, Massachusetts. A similar, slightly larger painting, "Moored Boat on Pond," is illustrated and fetched $$1,018.00.
