Oil on canvas. Signed and dated. Attached is a photograph of the model (26.4 x 21 cm total poster board), which was the basis for this oil portrait. On the reverse, the model is identified and it is indicated that it was taken on 5 December 1927 at his home in Calle Pau Claris in Barcelona. With a restless and cosmopolitan spirit, he travelled all over Europe and practised various sports (such as cycling, boxing, fencing and stick defence). In his day, his great love for art was well known, especially among art galleries in Barcelona. Another portrait of this model as a young man, painted by Eduard Flo, is offered in this auction.
